Le Petit Smith Haut Lafitte Pessac Léognan rouge 2019 0,75l

Le Petit Smith Haut Lafitte is the red second wine of Château Smith Haut Lafitte in Pessac-Léognan, sourced from organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards. Cabernet Sauvignon plays the leading role, supported by Merlot and other Bordelais varieties. The nose offers pure cassis, ripe black cherry, graphite, tobacco leaf and a touch of dried herbs. On the palate the wine is medium to full-bodied, with velvety, ripe tannins and juicy, focused fruit. Lively acidity and the estate’s hallmark smoky-mineral character give energy and length. A characterful Bordeaux that drinks well in its youth yet has the structure to evolve further alongside grilled meats, lamb or hearty vegetarian dishes.

The grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is a world-famous red grape producing dark, structured wines with cassis, blackberry, cedar, firm tannins and ageing potential.

The variety is exciting because it combines power with recognisable character. Pair Cabernet Sauvignon with steak, roast beef, lamb, venison, burgers, mushrooms and hard cheeses. Cabernet Sauvignon
