Lukas Markowitsch Rubin Carnuntum is a characterful Zweigelt from Göttlesbrunn and part of the Rubin Carnuntum growers’ association. The vines grow on warm gravel and loess soils that deliver ripe, juicy fruit. The nose shows dark cherries, plums, wild berries and hints of nougat and vanilla. On the palate the wine is juicy, medium-bodied and spicy, with soft, well-integrated tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it lively and gives elegance and length. Its persistent, savory finish makes it a versatile food wine for traditional Austrian dishes, roasts and slow-cooked vegetables. Slight chilling brings out its juicy fruit and savoury spice.
