Michele Chiarlo’s Barbaresco Faset comes from a hillside vineyard above the village of Barbaresco, where sandier soils give particularly aromatic Nebbiolo. The bouquet is intense, with wild berries, cassis and cherry layered over notes of tar, smoke and dark spice. On the palate the wine is powerful yet polished, offering ripe fruit framed by firm but finely woven tannins. Bright acidity drives a long, focused finish. Hints of liquorice, dried herbs and minerals add complexity. This is a characterful Barbaresco with impressive ageing potential.
Ageing in large oak casks highlights fine tannins and the mineral, elegant side of Faset.
