Der Ott is Bernhard Ott’s signature Grüner Veltliner, bringing together fruit from carefully chosen parcels around Feuersbrunn. The bouquet offers ripe yellow apple, pear and a touch of exotic fruit, supported by herbal spice and a hint of smoky minerality. On the palate the wine is more concentrated than the estate bottlings yet retains a cool, linear character. Juicy fruit, a gentle phenolic grip from ageing in large oak and vibrant acidity interlock seamlessly. The long, saline-tinged finish suggests impressive potential for development. A refined partner for substantial dishes such as poultry, veal, creamy vegetable compositions or elegant fish cuisine.
