Fass 4 by Bernhard Ott pays homage to the historic cask once chosen as the finest Veltliner barrel of its vintage, today emblematic of Wagram’s success story. Fruit from small parcels around Spiegel and Rosenberg creates a layered yet highly drinkable white wine. The bouquet combines yellow apple, ripe pear and stone fruit with citrus zest, dried herbs and subtle white pepper. On the palate Fass 4 offers a creamy texture, firm structure and refreshing acidity that keeps everything in balance. A salty, mineral-inflected finish adds length and tension. In large format the wine gains even more harmony and makes a superb companion for convivial meals featuring fish, poultry or refined vegetarian dishes.
