Blaufränkisch Johanneshöhe from Prieler offers a juicy introduction to the Leithaberg region. Vines rooted in iron-rich brown earth and gravel around Oggau give the wine deep berry fruit and vibrant tension. The nose shows blackberry, wild berries and ripe cherry, lifted by a touch of orange zest and subtle herbal spice. On the palate it is generous yet precise, with fine-grained tannins and lively acidity that keep the wine effortlessly drinkable. A distinct stony, salty note reflects the nearby Leithaberg limestone. Ideal with roast chicken, pasta with ragout or simply as a characterful glass of red on its own.

After fermentation in stainless steel, the Blaufränkisch matures for an extended period in large oak casks, combining fruit, spice and fine structure.
