Blaufränkisch Mariental from Prieler comes from one of the most renowned sites around Lake Neusiedl. The Ried Mariental facing Rust, with its limestone-rich, stony soils, produces small berries of great density and character. The bouquet opens with dark blackberry, black cherry and plum, framed by violet notes and a hint of graphite and dried herbs. On the palate the wine is compact and layered yet cool in expression, supported by firm, polished tannins and precise acidity. A pronounced mineral backbone drives the long, salty finish and underlines its excellent ageing potential. A serious Blaufränkisch for braised beef, game dishes or mature hard cheese.

The wine matures in 500-litre barrels and large oak casks, developing depth, structure and complex Blaufränkisch spice.
