Weingut Schmidl Grüner Veltliner Federspiel,Ried Klostersatz 2025 0,75l

Schmidl Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Ried Klostersatz represents the golden middle ground between Steinfeder and Smaragd. Vines rooted in fertile alluvial soils over Danube gravel give the wine its bright, crystal-clear fruit. The bouquet offers juicy stone-fruit aromas, delicate herbal spice and a hint of green pepper. On the palate this Veltliner is dry, finely balanced and wonderfully drinkable, with lively acidity and a gentle, creamy texture. Flavours of honey, mineral notes and white pepper come together in a complex yet approachable style. The fresh, harmonious finish makes it a natural match for classic Austrian dishes, from boiled beef to simply prepared fish and vegetable plates.

Fermentation in stainless steel tank followed by fine lees ageing preserves fruit, spice and balance.

Since taking the helm in 2009, the estate has turned decisively to organic farming, restoring focus to the terraces and their stony heartbeat....
