This single malt from the Kurayoshi Distillery is matured in rare Mizunara oak casks, prized for their fine grain and complex spice. The nose combines honey, vanilla and light orchard fruit with coconut, sweet toffee and gentle oak. On the palate it is smooth and creamy, showing notes of oak, oriental spice, ripe fruit and an elegant sweetness. A hint of coconut and toasted nuts carries into a medium length finish marked by floral oak and a touch of tobacco. The whisky feels full and rounded yet never heavy, capturing Japanese precision with an exotic cask influence.
