Velich Chardonnay Tiglat 2023 1,5l

Tiglat is a Chardonnay from Burgenland's Seewinkel and the wine that first brought Velich broad international recognition. Its single vineyard was planted in 1959, while the name is a local dialect term for a small section of vineyard. The distinctive microclimate around Lake Neusiedl and the shallow saline lakes shapes its origin. Velich relies on indigenous yeasts and extended lees ageing to build harmony and depth. Ripe peach and yellow fruit meet citrus zest, fine herbal spice and a saline mineral edge. The texture is broad and silky, yet lively acidity keeps the wine focused and precise. It suits rich fish, poultry and veal particularly well.

The grape variety: Chardonnay

Chardonnay is a globally renowned white grape from Burgundy, capable of crisp, mineral, creamy or oak-aged styles. Its flavours range from citrus and apple to peach, butter, nuts and toast.

It pairs with seafood, chicken, creamy pasta, mushrooms, lobster and soft cheeses. Chardonnay is exciting because it can be beautifully simple or profoundly complex.
