Weingut Gebrüder Nittnaus

By the Neusiedlersee, with Gols as its home base, Weingut Gebrüder Nittnaus builds on more than 300 years of family winegrowing. Two brothers, two skill sets: Andreas carries the estate’s voice into the world, while Hans Michael shapes precision in the cellar—both focused on translating sites into honest, lasting wines.

Vineyard names such as Salzberg, Altenberg, Edelgrund or Luckenwald are soil maps—dark topsoil over ancient Danube gravel, sandy loam and calcareous sediments that steer ripening in the Pannonian climate. Sustainability is hands-on: estate compost from pomace and manure, cover crops, biodiversity and a long view for vine health.

In the winery, restraint is the tool: hand harvest, gentle extraction, spontaneous fermentations when conditions are right, and ageing chosen for the vintage—stainless steel or large oak that supports structure without shouting. The signature is Burgenland with clarity and depth, anchored in the Neusiedlersee origin.
