Weingut Keller Riesling Westhofener Kirchspiel GG 2013 0,75l

The Grosses Gewächs from Westhofen's Kirchspiel is a dry Riesling with a clear sense of origin from a VDP.GROSSE LAGE. The amphitheatre-shaped slope opens east towards the Rhine and is protected from cool western winds by surrounding hills. Clay marl, limestone deposits and a calcareous subsoil define its mineral character. Keller traditionally matures the wine in large Stückfass oak. Peach, apricot and mirabelle are layered with cool, chalky notes. The palate is taut, fresh and precise, with fine spice and impressive length. It is a serious partner for grilled poultry, sushi, full-flavoured fish or medium-savoury cheeses.

The grape variety: Riesling

Riesling is a noble white grape famous for citrus fruit, stone fruit, floral notes and vibrant acidity. It can be dry, off-dry, sparkling or beautifully sweet.

Its freshness makes it ideal with seafood, pork, spicy Asian cuisine, cheeses and desserts. Riesling is one of the most expressive and versatile white wine grapes. Riesling
