Botran Rare Blend Ex Agave is a premium rum from Guatemala, matured in the country’s highlands using the solera system. The blend is based on distillates made from virgin cane honey that spend many years in casks previously seasoned with American whiskey and agave spirits. On the nose, aromas of caramel, candied orange and ripe pineapple mingle with cocoa, roasted nuts and a subtle herbal agave note. The palate is rich and layered, offering flavours of toffee, tropical fruit, roasted coffee and warming spice. A gentle hint of smoke and well-integrated oak give structure and length. The finish is long, slightly dry and marked by caramelised fruit and fine wood tones. A complex sipping rum that is best enjoyed neat and pairs beautifully with dark chocolate or nut-based desserts.
