Botran Ron de Guatemala No. 12 Reserva Superior is made from so-called virgin cane honey and aged using the solera system in Guatemala’s cool highlands. Maturation in selected oak casks, often previously seasoned with whiskey, sherry or port, creates a layered and refined profile. The nose offers caramel, roasted nuts, vanilla and a hint of dark chocolate, joined by honeyed tones and dried fruit. On the palate the rum is smooth and rounded, with flavours of toffee, cocoa, dried fruit and gentle oak spice. Sweetness is well balanced by subtle roasted and spicy nuances. The finish is long, harmonious and pleasantly warming. A refined, classic Botran rum that is excellent neat, on the rocks or in sophisticated rum cocktails.
