Château Capbern Saint Estèphe cb 2020 1,5l

Château Capbern is an estate in Saint-Estèphe owned by the same family as Calon Ségur. Its 38-hectare vineyard lies in a single block between Meyney and Phélan Ségur and is planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot plus small amounts of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Vines grow on gravelly, sandy soils with clay and limestone that bring both structure and freshness. The bouquet reveals cassis, black cherry and red berries with herbal notes, tobacco and a touch of graphite. On the palate Château Capbern is juicy, straight and yet charming, with ripe tannins, lively acidity and a long, fruit-and-spice-driven finish – a characterful and approachable Saint-Estèphe.

Around 18 months in French oak with a high proportion of new barrels give the wine structure, spice and depth.

Its vineyards sit on gravelly crests with clay components—classic St‑Estèphe terroir that naturally suits Cabernet Sauvignon, while Merlot adds breadth and balance....
