Château Cos Labory Saint Estèphe 5cc. 2015 0,75l

Château Cos Labory sits on the famed Cos hill in Saint-Estèphe and has been classified as a 5th Growth since 1855. Its 18 hectares of vines are planted on deep gravel with a clay-limestone subsoil and are dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and a touch of Petit Verdot. The grapes are hand-harvested, vinified plot by plot and matured in oak barrels. The bouquet offers cassis, blackberry and plum with cedar, tobacco and spicy undertones. On the palate Cos Labory combines the firm structure typical of Saint-Estèphe with real finesse, showing ripe tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, slightly mineral finish.

Fourteen months in French oak barrels, 50% new, round out the structure and support elegant maturity.

Château Cos Labory

Overlooking the Gironde in Saint‑Estèphe, Château Cos Labory draws its identity from the famed Hill of Cos: gravel and Graves terraces with clay beneath give Cabernet Sauvignon its backbone, while Merlot brings balance; as a 1855 Cinquième Cru Classé, the estate sits firmly within the Left Bank’s classic lineage....

The grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is a world-famous red grape producing dark, structured wines with cassis, blackberry, cedar, firm tannins and ageing potential.

The variety is exciting because it combines power with recognisable character. Pair Cabernet Sauvignon with steak, roast beef, lamb, venison, burgers, mushrooms and hard cheeses. Cabernet Sauvignon
