Château Haut Marbuzet Saint Estèphe cb 2006 0,75l

Château Haut-Marbuzet is one of the most characterful estates in Saint-Estèphe, with about 65 hectares of vines rooted in gravelly hilltops over clay and limestone. The blend is driven by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, and the wine is traditionally aged in a high proportion of new French oak. The bouquet shows ripe blackcurrant, blackberry and plum wrapped in notes of vanilla, tobacco and a hint of coconut. On the palate Haut-Marbuzet is full-bodied and velvety, with dense, spicy fruit, ripe tannins and lively acidity providing lift. A long, gently smoky finish highlights the estate’s lush, seductive Saint-Estèphe style.

Eighteen months in new oak barrels give this mature Saint-Estèphe fullness, spice and velvety maturity.

Château Haut Marbuzet

Since 1952 the Duboscq family has shaped a singular Saint‑Estèphe voice: Château Haut‑Marbuzet, St.Estephe, revived from a modest seven‑hectare plot and expanded patiently over the decades. Its story reaches back into the 19th century; as an independent Cru Bourgeois—later ranked “Exceptionnel”—the estate has always preferred its own compass....

The grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is a world-famous red grape producing dark, structured wines with cassis, blackberry, cedar, firm tannins and ageing potential.

The variety is exciting because it combines power with recognisable character. Pair Cabernet Sauvignon with steak, roast beef, lamb, venison, burgers, mushrooms and hard cheeses. Cabernet Sauvignon
