Château La Louvière Pessac Léognan rouge 2020 0,75l

Château La Louvière is based in Léognan at the heart of Pessac‑Léognan and farms around sixty hectares of vines. The red vineyard is planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot plus a little Petit Verdot on deep gravel and clay‑limestone soils. Fermentation takes place in cement and stainless‑steel vats, followed by about fifteen months of ageing in partly new French oak barrels. The bouquet reveals blackcurrant, plum and red berries with graphite, cedar and discreet toasty notes. On the palate La Louvière Rouge is focused and fresh, with fine‑grained tannins, juicy fruit and an elegant, lightly smoky Pessac‑Léognan finish.

Twelve months in oak barrels, partly new, underline the ripe fruit and the clear, structured Pessac-Léognan style.

Vines were planted here around 1310; by the 17th century, Carthusian monks refined the estate’s craft with meticulous plot work and a rigorous cellar....
