Château La Mission Haut-Brion Pessac-Léognan rouge gcc. 2022 0,75l

Château La Mission Haut‑Brion sits in Talence opposite Haut‑Brion and cultivates about 29 hectares of vines. Almost 25 hectares are devoted to red grapes – Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc – rooted in gravel over a sandy‑clay subsoil. This terroir gives powerful yet deeply mineral expressions of Pessac‑Léognan. The bouquet reveals blackberry, blueberry and cassis alongside tobacco, black tea, spice and subtle toast. On the palate La Mission Haut‑Brion is dense and concentrated, with silky ripe tannins, cool freshness and a long, complex finish marked by smoky, earthy notes.

Long ageing in French oak, with a high proportion of new wood, gives the wine great density, complexity and structural depth.

Château La Mission Haut-Brion

Just across the road in Pessac‑Léognan, Château La Mission Haut‑Brion faces its famous sibling, yet speaks with its own, quietly austere voice. The story begins in 1540, when Arnaud de Lestonnac shaped the plot known as Arregedhuys—an early cornerstone of what the Graves would become....

The grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is a world-famous red grape producing dark, structured wines with cassis, blackberry, cedar, firm tannins and ageing potential.

The variety is exciting because it combines power with recognisable character. Pair Cabernet Sauvignon with steak, roast beef, lamb, venison, burgers, mushrooms and hard cheeses. Cabernet Sauvignon
