Château Larcis Ducasse Saint Emilion gcc. 2019 0,75l
Château Larcis Ducasse is a Premier Grand Cru Classé from the sunny Côte Pavie slopes in Saint-Émilion, with around eleven hectares of vines facing due south. The vineyard lies on a patchwork of limestone, clay and marl, giving the Merlot- and Cabernet-Franc-based blend both power and a cool, stony freshness. The average vine age is about thirty-five years and high-density planting keeps yields low and flavours intense. After meticulous hand-picking, each parcel is vinified separately and the wine is matured in French oak barrels with a high proportion of new wood. The bouquet reveals dark berries, black cherry and blackberry, with notes of licorice, warm earth and a touch of truffle. On the palate Larcis Ducasse is dense yet silky, with ultra-fine ripe tannins, vibrant acidity and a clear limestone-driven minerality. The long, layered finish combines generous black fruit with the finesse of a great Saint-Émilion from the limestone slopes.
Long maturation in French oak gives this Merlot-led wine fullness, depth and precise tannin structure.
