Château Recougne Bordeaux supérieur 2022 0,75l

Château Recougne Bordeaux Supérieur red reflects the generous, fruit-driven style of the right bank. Vines on sandy-clay soils with iron in the subsoils are planted mostly with merlot, supported by cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon. The wine reveals aromas of red and dark fruits such as cherry, currant and pomegranate, backed by roasted nuances and a touch of dried herbs. On the palate it is juicy and supple, with ripe, soft tannins and balanced acidity. The elegant, fruity finish makes it a versatile partner for pasta, roasts, barbecues and cheese boards. Served at moderate temperature, it shows particularly well in informal gatherings around the table.

12 months of oak barrel ageing gives this Bordeaux Supérieur structure, fine spice and a classic oak frame.

Local lore ties its name to King Henri IV’s “recognition” of the wine; in modern terms, the Milhade family has anchored the estate since 1938, passing the work through generations....
