Faiveley Gevrey Chambertin 1c. Lavaux Saint Jacques 2019 0,75l

Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques from Domaine Faiveley comes from a cool, stony slope facing the Combe de Lavaux. The nose offers small black fruits, cherry, sweet spice and earthy notes, with hints of herbs and menthol. On the palate the wine is concentrated, warm and powerful yet remains elegant and finely etched. Tannins are ripe and silky, while the lively acidity is perfectly integrated. A touch of leather and marked minerality carry through the long, complex finish. A characterful premier cru that pairs beautifully with lamb, braised beef, duck or game birds.

Ageing for 16 months in French oak shapes the powerful fruit, dense structure and elegantly managed tannins.

Faiveley

In Burgundy, near Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Faiveley has carried a seven‑generation legacy since 1825. From the intricate climats of the Côte de Nuits to limestone slopes in the Côte Chalonnaise, the estate’s holdings read like a map of terroir, parcel stitched to parcel across prized villages and crus....

The grape variety: Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is a refined red grape known for red cherry, raspberry, floral notes, spice and silky tannins. It is most famous in Burgundy but thrives in many cool-climate regions.

It pairs beautifully with duck, roast chicken, mushrooms, salmon, pork and game birds. Its fascination lies in finesse, fragrance and the way it expresses origin. Pinot Noir
