Blaufränkisch vom Lehm from Gesellmann is a truly regional wine grown on heavy clay soils around Deutschkreutz. The vineyards are farmed organically, the grapes are picked by hand and handled gently in the cellar. The bouquet shows juicy cherry, blackberry, hints of liquorice and a touch of white pepper. On the palate the wine is spicy, lively and fresh in structure, with bright acidity and fine-grained tannins. Maturation in large wooden casks preserves the fruit and adds depth. A versatile partner for roasts, hearty pasta dishes or traditional Austrian cuisine.

Seven months in large oak casks gives the Blaufränkisch a juicy fruit core and peppery spice.
