Jalits Blaufränkisch Diabas 2019 0,75l

Blaufrankisch Eisenberg DAC Reserve Diabas from Jalits is grown on rocky, diabase rich soils on the Eisenberg and represents one of the estate s most powerful reds. The bouquet is packed with blackberry, black cherry and elderberry, intertwined with graphite, dark chocolate, smoke and spicy notes. On the palate the wine is concentrated and compact, showing cool stony minerality, dark berry fruit and firm yet ripe tannins. A taut but ripe line of acidity keeps the generous body in balance. The texture is deep, savoury and marked by salty grip. A complex reserve Blaufrankisch that shines with game, rare beef, lamb and strong hard cheeses.

The grape variety: Blaufränkisch

Blaufränkisch is a Central European red grape known for dark cherry, pepper, fresh acidity and structured tannins. It is especially important in Austria and Hungary.

The grape is exciting because it combines elegance with savoury spice. Pair Blaufränkisch with duck, pork, lamb, goulash, mushrooms, sausages and hard cheeses.
