Blaufrankisch Ried Duerrau from Weingut Kerschbaum comes from a flagship single vineyard in Mittelburgenland and ranks among the estate s most characterful reds. The bouquet reveals dark berries, cassis, ripe cherry, tobacco, fine toast, cardamom, clove and a hint of nougat. On the palate the wine is dense and complex yet cool in expression, with firm ripe tannins and polished oak. A touch of natural extract sweetness rounds out the powerful structure without hiding the freshness. Mineral notes from the site lend length and finesse. The finish is long, spicy and deep. A serious Blaufrankisch for beef, game, lamb and mature cheeses.
