Les Carruades de Lafite Pauillac – A true delight from Pauillac
Les Carruades de Lafite is the second wine of Château Lafite-Rothschild and offers a refined introduction to the Pauillac style. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot dominate the blend, supported by Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The nose reveals blackcurrants, ripe plums and blackberries, lifted by notes of violets, lavender, pencil shavings and a touch of tobacco. On the palate it is medium-bodied, juicy and precise, with linear, finely grained tannins. Lively, chalky acidity provides tension and lift. The long, elegant finish carries dark berries, spice and gentle smokiness, making this a noble Pauillac for fine beef dishes, lamb or sophisticated vegetable cuisine.
