Poggio di Sotto Brunello di Montalcino docg. 2019 0,75l
Poggio di Sotto’s Brunello di Montalcino is widely regarded as one of the most refined classics of the appellation. Old‑vine sangiovese grows in organically farmed vineyards between hills rich in galestro, limestone and clay. Fermentation starts spontaneously in large wooden vats, and the wine then rests for many months in Slavonian oak casks before being bottled unfiltered. The nose offers red cherry, rosehip and dried flowers, supported by citrus peel, spice and earthy notes. On the palate it is silky yet profound, with vibrant acidity, fine tannins and remarkable length. A benchmark Brunello for special occasions, slow‑cooked meats and mature cheeses.
Ageing for 36 months in large Slavonian oak casks shapes the structured Brunello style without making the wine oak-dominated.
