Sassicaia 2021 from Tenuta San Guido is an iconic Super Tuscan based on Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grown on the hills of Bolgheri. The vines are rooted in gravelly soils rich in marine deposits, which lend finesse, freshness and mineral depth. The bouquet combines cassis, dark cherry and plum with notes of rose, Mediterranean herbs, eucalyptus and cedar. On the palate Sassicaia is precise, cool and silky, with perfectly ripe, fine grained tannins and vibrant acidity. The structure is powerful yet always elegant, finishing long with a saline, spicy persistence. It is a true Tuscan classic that shines alongside refined beef dishes, lamb, game and mature cheeses.
Ageing for 24 months in French oak gives Sassicaia precision, depth and an elegant, ageworthy structure.
