Château Bouscassé Madiran is the flagship wine of Alain Brumont in South-West France. The vines are rooted in clay-limestone soils around Maumusson-Laguian and the blend is based on Tannat with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc adding backbone and complexity. According to the estate, the wine delivers aromas of blackberries and blackcurrants with hints of liquorice, dark chocolate and savoury spice. On the palate it is powerful and full-bodied yet well balanced, with dense ripe tannins and plenty of freshness. The long, flavourful finish makes this Madiran a superb match for slow-cooked beef, lamb dishes, hearty southwestern cuisine and mature cheeses.
Barrel ageing with a share of new oak rounds out the powerful Tannat fruit and contributes to a harmonious, full-bodied impression.
