Château Bouscassé Vieilles Vignes,Madiran 2016 0,75l

Château Bouscassé Vieilles Vignes Madiran is produced from very old Tannat vines, some more than a hundred years old, planted in small plots of fine clay on the edge of an old cliff in Maumusson-Laguian. This terroir yields an especially concentrated and refined expression of Madiran. The bouquet offers dark berry and plum fruit with notes of cigar box, mocha and sweet spice. On the palate the wine is powerful and deep yet remarkably polished, with firm, ripe tannins, vibrant acidity and excellent ageing potential. It is a characterful, structured red that pairs beautifully with game, slow-roasted lamb or rich blue cheeses.

This is Madiran at its most serious: well‑drained parcels, cool nights and a terroir that favors structure over easy softness....

The grape variety: Tannat

Tannat produces dark, full-bodied red wines with blackberry fruit, firm tannins, spice and savory depth. The style can be rustic and traditional or polished and modern.

It is a strong choice with grilled meats, stews, hard cheeses and barbecue, and it is especially exciting for anyone looking for powerful reds with character. Tannat
