Château Cantenac Brown is a 3rd Growth Margaux estate, instantly recognisable by its Tudor-style château. Around 60 hectares of vines lie on deep gravel in the heart of the appellation, planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot plus a little Petit Verdot. Grapes are harvested by hand, fermented in temperature-controlled vats and the wine is aged in French oak barrels. The bouquet offers blackberry, cassis and cherry with notes of violet, cocoa, cedar and fine toast. On the palate Château Cantenac Brown is concentrated, silky and powerful, with ripe tannins, fresh acidity and a long, layered finish – an opulent yet precise Margaux.

Château Cantenac Brown
In Margaux, Château Cantenac Brown blends British flair with classic Médoc gravel: founded in the 19th century by the Scottish John Lewis Brown, the Tudor‑style château still defines the estate’s identity. Vineyards on well‑draining gravel and Graves soils favour Cabernet Sauvignon, rounded by Merlot and touches of Cabernet Franc....

Anyone who compares wine across several vintages discovers its development in a particularly impressive way. A vertical tasting reveals how style, maturity, structure and aromas change over time – and helps to find the right vintage for personal taste or a special occasion.
The grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is a world-famous red grape producing dark, structured wines with cassis, blackberry, cedar, firm tannins and ageing potential.
The variety is exciting because it combines power with recognisable character. Pair Cabernet Sauvignon with steak, roast beef, lamb, venison, burgers, mushrooms and hard cheeses.
