Château Charmail Haut Médoc cb 2018 0,75l
Château Charmail is situated in Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne in the northern Haut-Médoc, close to the Gironde. Its roughly 27 hectares of vines form a single block on gravel and clay soils and are planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Classified as a Cru Bourgeois, the estate favours high vine density and careful vineyard work to achieve ripe, expressive fruit. The bouquet reveals blackcurrant, dark berries and cherry with floral notes, liquorice, smoke and tobacco. On the palate Château Charmail is juicy and medium- to full-bodied, with fine-grained tannins, balanced acidity and a long, spicy, fruit-driven finish – a reliable and keenly priced Haut-Médoc from the Left Bank.
Twelve months in French oak give this Haut-Médoc fine oak notes, a creamy texture and polished tannins.
