Château Malescot Saint Exupéry Margaux 3cc. 2017 0,75l
Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry is a Third Growth in the centre of Margaux, with parcels adjoining those of Château Margaux itself. Around 28 hectares of vines grow on Pyrenean gravel over chalk or marl that slopes gently towards the Gironde. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot make up the blend. Hand-picked grapes are vinified plot by plot and the wine is aged for up to sixteen months in a high proportion of new French oak. The bouquet reveals blackcurrant, blackberry and plum with violet, graphite, spice and a hint of smoke. On the palate Malescot Saint-Exupéry is plush and silky yet vibrant, with ripe tannins, juicy fruit and a long, refined, spicy finish.
Among the gravel rises of Margaux, tempered by breezes off the Gironde, Château Malescot Saint‑Exupéry holds its place as a Third Growth in the 1855 Classification. Its story reaches back to the 17th century, yet the name was sealed in 1827 when Count Jean‑Baptiste de Saint‑Exupéry acquired the estate....

The grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
