Dominus Estate is a benchmark Napa Valley red that marries Californian ripeness with Bordeaux‑like precision. The blend, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon with a dash of Cabernet Franc, comes from the historic Napanook vineyard at the foot of the Mayacamas range. Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and plum are joined by violets, graphite, cedar and tobacco leaf. On the palate the wine is full‑bodied, dense and tightly knit, with firm but refined tannins and a cool, mineral edge. Layers of dark fruit unfold into a very long, focused finish. This is a cellar‑worthy wine that shines with fine cuts of beef, lamb, game and other richly flavoured dishes.
Ageing in partly new French oak deepens the Cabernet structure and brings fine spice to the dark fruit.
