Overture is the elegant second wine of Opus One, a multi vintage Bordeaux style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Grapes from the same top Napa Valley vineyards as the grand vin are combined to create a particularly approachable expression. The bouquet reveals ripe plum, blackberry and cherry together with redcurrant, dried flowers and gentle toasted notes. On the palate Overture is juicy and smooth, with velvety texture, generous fruit and very well integrated tannins. Flavours of vanilla, coffee, cocoa and a touch of cedar carry through the fresh, balanced finish. A complex yet easy drinking Napa blend, perfect with seared beef, lamb chops, roast poultry and pasta in savoury sauces.
