Weingut Gernot & Heike Heinrich Gabarinza 2019 0,75l

Gabarinza comes from one of the oldest, most celebrated vineyards around Gols by Lake Neusiedl, blending Blaufränkisch, Merlot and Zweigelt. Aromas evoke rosehip, dark berries and sloe, framed by cedar, cocoa and tobacco. With air, forest floor, pepper and a subtle smoky nuance unfold. On the palate it is concentrated and fleshy, yet remarkably elegant and precise. A vibrant line of freshness keeps the depth in motion. Tannins are tightly woven, giving length without heaviness. Serve it with steak, game, duck or richly spiced braises. A Burgenland red with quiet authority—powerful without pomp, complex without overload.

Four years in 500-litre barrels gives the Gabarinza cuvée maturity, structure and calm depth.

Weingut Gernot & Heike Heinrich

In Gols, Burgenland—between the gravelly Parndorfer Platte and the limestone slopes of the Leithagebirge—Weingut Gernot & Heike Heinrich has pursued one idea since 1990: wine as a faithful translation of place. What began with one hectare grew into an estate known for letting soils and seasons set the tone....

The grape variety: Zweigelt

Zweigelt is Austria''s leading red grape, producing cherry-scented wines with soft tannins, fresh acidity and gentle spice. It is a crossing of Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent.

The variety is appealing because it is juicy, versatile and food-friendly. Pair Zweigelt with roast chicken, pork, schnitzel, burgers, mushrooms and mild cheeses.
