Weingut Hans & Anita Nittnaus Comondor 2019 1,5l

Comondor from Anita & Hans Nittnaus is the estate’s iconic red blend, bringing together Merlot, Blaufränkisch and Cabernet from top sites around Lake Neusiedl. Hand-harvested organic grapes from clay and limestone soils provide the foundation for this concentrated wine. The bouquet offers black cherry, blackberry and plum framed by cassis, herbal spice, cedar and a hint of tobacco. On the palate Comondor is dense, silky and layered, with ripe, juicy fruit, powerful yet polished tannins and vibrant acidity. Notes of dark chocolate, smoke and stony minerality add depth and extend the very long finish. A benchmark Burgenland cuvée that matches beautifully with fine cuts of beef, lamb and game.

500-litre casks and used barriques bring together dark fruit, spicy depth and ripe tannins.
