Gesellmann zb 2024 0,75l

zb from Gesellmann is a fruit‑driven blend of Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt and a share of Pinot Noir. Vines rooted in clay and limestone soils in Mittelburgenland deliver ripe, juicy grapes. The bouquet is packed with red berries, cherry and a hint of sour cherry, rounded by gentle spice. On the palate the wine is juicy and approachable yet has enough substance and soft tannins to remain serious. Fresh acidity keeps it highly drinkable and makes zb a perfect introduction to the Gesellmann style. It is an all‑round red for barbecues, pasta, cold cuts or relaxed evenings with friends.

Gesellmann

In the Blaufränkisch stronghold of Deutschkreutz, Weingut Gesellmann carries a long family thread—first documented in 1719—yet never static. Pannonian warmth, loam and clay give the backdrop for reds with natural grip. During the 1980s, Engelbert Gesellmann helped redefine Burgenland by planting international varieties and embracing French barriques, setting a benchmark that still echoes in the cellar....

The grape variety: Blaufränkisch

Blaufränkisch is a Central European red grape known for dark cherry, pepper, fresh acidity and structured tannins. It is especially important in Austria and Hungary.

The grape is exciting because it combines elegance with savoury spice. Pair Blaufränkisch with duck, pork, lamb, goulash, mushrooms, sausages and hard cheeses.
