Jean-François Ganevat Poulprix 2021 0,75l

Poulprix is a lively Vin de France from Anne and Jean-François Ganevat’s négoce range. It blends Gamay and Pinot Noir from organically farmed vines and is bottled without added sulphites. The wine is pale, juicy and highly drinkable, showing redcurrant, citrus, undergrowth and a lightly untamed natural-wine edge. Cold semi-carbonic maceration and ageing in wooden vats keep the fruit bright and the texture supple. It is made for aperitifs, charcuterie, terrines or relaxed evenings with friends. At Vinofant, it offers an inviting way to discover Ganevat’s playful Jura spirit. Its fresh energy rewards a light chill.

The family’s winegrowing roots reach back to the seventeenth century, and Jean-François returned to the estate in 1998 after formative years in Burgundy. Small parcels, old vines and biodynamic work provide the foundation. In the cellar, numerous cuvées are shaped from Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir, often with long ageing, native fermentations and minimal intervention....

The grape variety: Gamay

Gamay is a red grape best known from Beaujolais, producing light to medium-bodied wines with red berries, floral aromas, soft tannins and refreshing acidity.

It is excellent with charcuterie, roast chicken, pork, mushrooms and casual dishes, especially when served slightly chilled. Gamay
