| Le Retout Blanc is a characterful white from the Haut-Médoc that is bottled as Vin de France and built on an unconventional blend. Gros Manseng, Sauvignon Gris and Savagnin are harvested from cooler parcels around Château du Retout and matured for nine months, partly in barrels and partly in amphorae. The nose offers juicy yellow fruit, citrus, gooseberry, kiwi, blossom honey and a hint of almond and hazelnut. On the palate the wine is both powerful and vibrant, with zesty acidity, a creamy mid-palate and impressive aromatic depth. It shows how exciting Bordeaux whites can be when tradition meets curiosity and precision. | |
