Cuvee Kerschbaum from Weingut Kerschbaum is a complex red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Blaufrankisch grown on clay and loam in Mittelburgenland. The wine is matured in barriques to refine its structure. The bouquet reveals dark berries, cassis, cherry, tobacco, liquorice and roasted almonds. On the palate it is dense, layered and powerful, with ripe tannins and a firm frame. Oak is perfectly integrated and highlights the concentrated fruit. The finish is long, spicy and refined. It is made for demanding palates that look for depth, length and precision at the table. It deserves unhurried attention and pairs best with generous, slowly cooked dishes.
