La Croix Ducru Beaucaillou Saint Julien 2016 0,75l

La Croix Ducru Beaucaillou is the charismatic Saint-Julien crafted by the team of Ducru-Beaucaillou. Its vines grow on the estate’s famous gravel and quartz soils, which naturally limit vigour and concentrate flavour. The bouquet is intense, with cassis, black cherry, violets, graphite and a hint of cocoa. On the palate the wine is full‑bodied yet silky, showing layered dark fruit, finely polished tannins and great length. Freshness and finesse balance the richness, evoking the hallmarks of top Saint‑Julien. A noble Bordeaux for rib‑eye steak, roast lamb or slow‑braised beef, with excellent cellaring potential.

Twelve months in French oak, 60 percent new, give this Saint-Julien density, generous fruit and fine spice.

La Croix Ducru Beaucaillou

Between the “beaux cailloux” and the glint of the Gironde in St.Julien, La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou captures the essence of a great Médoc terroir: quartz-rich gravels, lean in nutrients yet charged with heat and drain. Strict parcel selection and careful picking keep the fruit precise and the tannins finely grained....
