Ladybird Red Stellenbosch comes from organically farmed, low-yield vineyards on the slopes of the Simonsberg. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot shows a deep, vibrant colour in the glass. The nose reveals wild berries, cassis, cigar box notes and dark chocolate. On the palate the wine is full-bodied yet polished, with ripe, velvety tannins. Juicy fruit and subtle oak spice are balanced by fresh acidity. A complex but approachable Bordeaux-style blend from South Africa, perfectly suited to grilled meats, roasts and richly flavoured dishes. It also has the structure to develop additional complexity after a few years in bottle.
