Amarone della Valpolicella Classico from Giuseppe Quintarelli is widely regarded as a benchmark for this iconic style. Grapes from carefully tended hillside vineyards are dried on racks before a slow, gentle fermentation. The result is an intensely concentrated red with aromas of dried cherries, plums, herbs and cocoa. On the palate it is rich and powerful yet remarkably refined, with velvety tannins and finely woven spice. Bright acidity keeps the opulent fruit in perfect balance. The long, warming finish evokes dark chocolate, sweet spice and ripe berries. A majestic partner for game, slow-braised beef or mature hard cheeses.
