POWERFUL | ELEGANT
Silvia Heinrich Blaufränkisch Alte Reben 2017 0,75l
Silvia Heinrich Blaufränkisch Alte Reben Late Release comes from some of the oldest vines in the Alten Weingebirge near Deutschkreutz. The small, thick-skinned berries deliver particularly concentrated fruit, fine tannins and impressive depth. After careful ageing in wood the wine rests for many years in bottle before being released at an ideal stage of maturity. The bouquet reveals dark cherry, blackberry and ripe plum alongside spice, gentle smokiness and cool mineral notes. On the palate this Blaufränkisch is layered, silky and powerful at the same time, with a perfectly judged balance of ripeness, freshness and savoury spice. It is a sophisticated partner for game, slow-braised beef and mature hard cheeses, and a contemplative wine to enjoy on its own.
Ageing in Austrian wooden casks underlines the refined elegance and structure of the old vines.
