Caiarossa Toscana igt. 2021 0,75l

This Tuscan red is produced at the biodynamically farmed Caiarossa estate near Riparbella on the coastal hills of Tuscany. The blend brings together several varieties from different parcels, creating a wine of striking depth and complexity. On the nose, dark cherry, blackberry and plum mingle with violet, Mediterranean herbs and a hint of graphite. The palate is full-bodied yet never heavy, driven by juicy fruit, fine-grained tannins and a refreshing, almost coastal acidity. Notes of cocoa, tobacco and subtle toast reflect maturation in French oak and integrate seamlessly with the vibrant fruit. The finish is long and layered, with dark fruit and a distinct stony, mineral edge. A characterful “Supertuscan” style wine that pairs beautifully with braised beef, lamb dishes, Mediterranean flavours or aged hard cheeses.

Around 14 months in French barriques give the biodynamic Tuscan red wine depth, density and finely integrated spice.

Caiarossa

Between Mediterranean scrub and sea breezes on the Tuscan Coast, Caiarossa in Riparbella, Toscana has followed biodynamic principles since its beginnings in 1998. Around Podere Serra all’Olio and the estate’s other vineyards, the vines sit on markedly varied soils—clay with gravel, limestone and iron-rich streaks—across changing elevations (about 150–220 m) cooled by the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea....
