Château Pontac Monplaisir Pessac-Léognan rouge comes from a historic estate in the Graves area, celebrated for both its red and white wines. The blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc matures in oak and delivers a typically smoky, characterful Pessac-Léognan style. The bouquet shows dark berries, cassis and cherry alongside notes of tobacco, vanilla, spice and roasted coffee. On the palate the wine is full-bodied with ripe, rounded tannins and well-integrated acidity. The combination of fruit, spice and gentle smokiness pairs beautifully with beef, lamb, poultry and hearty slow-cooked dishes.

Ageing for 14 months in once-used barriques preserves the fruit and gives the wine a fine, elegant barrel influence.
