Château Rochemorin Pessac-Léognan rouge 2020 0,75l

Château de Rochemorin Rouge is a Pessac-Léognan from André Lurton that exemplifies the smoky, characterful style of the appellation. The blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and other Bordeaux varieties is matured in oak, giving an intense bouquet of blackcurrant, black cherry and plum with vanilla, spice and toasted notes. On the palate the wine opens supple and fruity, then reveals a tannic backbone and lively freshness. Spicy, tobacco-tinged nuances carry through the long finish. It is a versatile food wine, excellent with beef, lamb, duck breast, stews and flavourful cheeses. Given a short time in a carafe, it gains additional aromatic complexity and a particularly velvety texture.

Ageing for 12 months in French oak gives this red Pessac-Léognan structure, spice and fine toasted notes.

Château Rochemorin

On the gravel crests of Martillac in Pessac‑Léognan, Château de Rochemorin stands with a name inseparable from Montesquieu, who owned the estate in the 18th century and helped champion its wines. The soils shift from deep Graves to slightly more clay-driven pockets; that diversity, tempered by nearby pine woods, sets the tone as much as the Gironde climate....

The grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is a world-famous red grape producing dark, structured wines with cassis, blackberry, cedar, firm tannins and ageing potential.

The variety is exciting because it combines power with recognisable character. Pair Cabernet Sauvignon with steak, roast beef, lamb, venison, burgers, mushrooms and hard cheeses. Cabernet Sauvignon
