As the second wine of Château Branaire-Ducru, this Saint-Julien offers the estate’s signature with an inviting, approachable profile. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot form the core, joined by smaller proportions of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Deep Quaternary gravel over clay shapes the classic Médoc terroir. Red and dark fruit, gentle spice and fresh nuances give the bouquet clarity and lift. The palate is supple and rounded, framed by fine tannins rather than weight. Twelve months in French oak, with 20% new wood, add polish while keeping the fruit clear. It is a versatile partner for poultry, white meats, grilled beef, charcuterie or soft cheeses, with enough balance to reward further cellaring.
