Opus One is the legendary joint venture wine created by Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild in the heart of Napa Valley. The blend, based largely on Cabernet Sauvignon, marries dark fruit intensity with floral finesse and judicious oak. Aromas of cassis, blackberry and black cherry mingle with violet, dried rose, vanilla, cedar and warm baking spices. On the palate Opus One is full bodied yet silky, showing dense ripe fruit wrapped in ultra fine grained tannins. Layers of graphite, black tea, licorice and dark chocolate add depth and complexity to the long finish. A magnificent, age worthy Napa Valley red that pairs beautifully with prime beef, lamb, game and richly flavoured contemporary cuisine.

Eighteen months in new French oak frame the dark fruit and give the wine structure and a creamy texture.
